 The 'tandem jump' with dual controlled parachute lets you experience what it feels like to; jump from a plane, free fall, and fly with an open parachute, all under the watchful eye of an expert skydiving instructor - a Tandem Instructor. So why not fly up there in the skies over Tuscany? Only 30 minutes drive from Florence the Scuola Paracadutismo Lucca allows you to realise your dreams and enter into the fantastic world of skydiving.

With approximately 25 minutes of preparation you will be ready to jump with your instructor. On the ground instructors teach you step by step the various stages of the jump. You will also be given instructions on the procedure in the aircraft, the position you need to take during free fall, how to open and pilot the parachute (if you choose to you can pilot the chute safety on the first jump, remembering you have an expert close by to guarantee security and respect safety standards.

In the 'tandem jump' the equipment used is designed and built to accommodate two people, one of which may be just a passenger. The system can carry a max. load of 500 lbs.

Tandem jumps are used for both instructional gain (with student parachute passengers) and promotional gain (with non parachute passengers).

On the 'tandem jump' various security systems are used, the most sophisticated is CYPRES (CYbernetic Parachute RElease System) which automatically opens the auxiliary parachute, without intervention from the instructor.

The jumps at the Scuola Paracadutismo Lucca are made from altitudes of 4300-4500 metres AGL (14100-17800 ft), free fall lasts for around 53-58 secs, and open parachute descent for around 5-7 minutes.

On request it is possible to film your tandem (usually it is about 5-7 minutes long, on VHS PAL SYSTEM or DVD video); the video includes an initial explanation, ground trials, getting ready for the jump, boarding the plane and the ascent, the whole of the free fall phase, the last few seconds of the jump with open parachute, the landing and then finally the first impressions on record after the jump.

 By italian law to try out a 'Tandem Jump' no medical certificate is required.

'Tandem Jumps' can be tried without attending courses, just a simple booking guarantees you a place.

We need all passengers bring a personal document like passport, drive license, student card and so on, and running shoes;

Jumps take place on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (all year
around save the two central weekends of august and holidays like Christmas, Easter and so on) with
the Pilatus PC6 Porter aircraft from level 140 (about 4300m above ground
level).
